What is the Provider Community of Practice?

The Provider Community of Practice is an open community of delivery providers or individuals who offer careers education, information, advice and guidance to schools and colleges.

Why should I sign up?

The community works towards improving the impact of careers education on young people through:

• Virtual events with a best practice focus and invites to present directly to our network of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Hubs
• Digital tools to help access our network of schools, special schools, colleges and hubs
• Updates from CEC on key areas of work from the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and Education sector

The equalex framework, defines learning outcomes and objectives and allows educators to embed meaningful workplace experiences within a progressive whole school careers programme.

This approach, designed by 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, aligns with the recent updates to Gatsby Benchmark 6 (Experiences of the Workplace) to ensure experiences have a clear purpose, there are opportunities to meet a variety of people, perform work-relevant tasks, receive feedback on them, with time for preparation and reflection.

equalex is an equitable, high-quality approach to work experience—helping young people gain the skills, knowledge, and behaviours they need to make informed decisions to take their best next step. 

As Providers we know you play a significant role in designing, delivering and evaluating many activities which would support and fit into a who school careers programme. We encourage you to engage with the equalex framework, ensure you are aware of where your own activities map onto it and make sure all your activities are meaningful and inline with the updated gatsby Benchmark 6.
